I am a sound engineer with an electrical engineering degree. I have been building microphones from hand selected parts for the past 10 years. These microphones are crafted with care.

Made from all new parts, I have engineered this mic to have the classic U47 sound but with a modern twist.  This mic features a fabulous Flat 47 capsule from Arienne Audio, a Cinemag dual bobbin transformer, and a new old stock military 6U8 tube.  The 6U8 is an interesting tube in that it combines a pentode and triode in one envelope.  The first stage is a triode wired pentode just like in the original U47.  To this I add a directly coupled triode stage to drive the transformer. This driver stage gives more headroom and transient response than the original single tube circuit.  This makes for a wonderful vocal mic. 

This is a complete system with mic, power supply, cables, shock mount, and carrying case.
