Product Overview:Problem with broken or leaking unions on a Whirlpool bath from Bathstore? This is a fairly common problem as forums on the internet will indicate.

Pegasus Whirlpool has assembled a kit of parts is designed to overcome the problems associated with broken or leaking unions on baths supplied by Bathstore. The pack also includes half a tub of glue (to keep the cost down) and just in case you have to remove the suction pipe from the bath, we also include a bag of our Silicone to enable you to reseal it reliably.

This replacement union kit for leaking Bathstore whirlpool baths can be fitted by a competent DIY person or a plumber. Our technical support hotline is available to assist. We also have engineers on the road who can do the job for you.

Caution: Most Bathstore baths are supplied with pumps which have imperial connections. However because the baths are made in China, the unions and threads can vary considerably in size and it may be that you will need to use the existing nuts supplied with the bath with our unions. Please note that the 40mm adaptor is no longer supplied as it is not necessary.

Initially dry fit and cut to length as follows, you may have make adjustment to my figures if the existing pipework is different(IE longer). You will need to cut the 47.5mm diameter pipe to the lengths required as different baths have different lengths between the union and the elbow and we no longer cut that piece of pipe before sending it out. If the union and elbow are butted against each other then you will need two pieces of pipe 70mm long. First, glue the elbow to the union, then cut the existing union off with with about 35mm protruding from the 90 degree joint towards the suction fitting is siliconed onto the bath, (do not let the pipe move down). glie them straight connector onto the 35mm of pipe that is protruding from the new elbow and then glue that onto the existing suction pipe.

Apply glue to both parts and assemble. The glue goes off very quickly much quicker than the (wrong) ABS cement you can buy from plumbers merchants.
