For sale is this 2000 Mercedes Sl280 Auto
This car was purchased by my son as a project. the deal was, i did the bodywork (im a qualified painter with over 30 years experience) and moted the car and he would deal with the scruffy interior and have the wheels refurbed.
After many mans hours spent sorting the body work and repainting the car in stunning metallic panther black and getting it through its mot, it has sat for virtually a year gathering dust and nothing else was done
My son has now decided he wants a late slk and has lost all interest in the sl, so its now up for sale as an unfinished project
Jobs that need doing
interior trim is scruffy, it needs two new door cards and the seats need recanalizing
Genuine amg rims are scuffed and need a refurb, the tyres are the wrong size and scrap on the front arches
Wheel bolts on the rear are two long and catch slightly when driven, car has wheel spacers, but the bolts rub
Drivers window does not drop when door is opened
Side repeaters need replacing
Battery is shot and will not hold a charge
The mot runs out soon, so will need renewing
A good polish
For the reasons above, i would strongly recommend collection on a trailer and not driven home
please note... the panoramic roof is not included in the sale, it can however be purchased should you wish to buy it separately, we also have a normal hard top for the car, but that is blue in colour, again, can be purchased separately
The soft top roof is in excellent condition and fully working
I probably haven't done this car any justice with the description, but just want any potential buyer to fully understand that this is an unfinished project. it dosent need much top get it roadworthy again, but im not prepared to do anymore work to it or spend anymore money
