A rare original Schrader lighter dating from 1914 - 1918. I understand that Schrader was an American company but the lighter has 'Schrader Canada' stamped on the side.

On the inside of the base it says 'made in GTB'.

The lighter is assumed be trench art due to its style with brass construction. The body contains a gauze to soak up the lighter fuel.

It still has the little cap which screws off to reveal the wick.

The item requires a little attention such as the flint but I have left it in its original condition with no cleaning etc.
