RARE---ALITALIA LINEA 72 RICHARD GINORI JOE COLUMBO AMBROGIO POZZI BROWN AND WHITE CUP AND SAUCER 1970 MCM. IN EXCELLENT BARELY TO VIRTUALLY NEW CONDITION. SAUCER MEASURES: 6 5/8" BY 5 1/8" AND CUP IS 2" TALL AND 3 3/8" IN DIAMETER. When Alitalia's fleet began to offer intercontinental flights, Joe Colombo was asked to design with a series of stringent constraints Minimum weight and volume, modularity and stability on a flat surface were problems familiar to Colombo who used to reflect on housing units and small functional modules With the specialist ceramic designer Ambrogio Pozzi Colombo designed a tableware set, manufactured by Richard Ginori.
