About the company Seiffener Volkskunst EG

Your company was founded in 1958 by Seiffen artisans. After preparatory work to set up the workshop, the production of original Erzgebirge wooden art products began in 1959. There was carving, turning, and wood chippings. Individual parts are painted and assembled into their Erzgebirge wooden art figures. The production of wooden rulers, another workshop area, was integrated into the company a few years later. The range was continually expanded in the following years. In addition to nutcrackers, various types of incense figures, light figures of angels and miners, pyramids and small candle arches, numerous miniature representations and later the well-known Striezelkinder were also produced. Until 1989, a large proportion of the items manufactured were exported. After the political and economic changes in 1989, new markets and customers were acquired at home and abroad. Since 1992, Seiffener Volkskunst eG has presented itself at numerous regional, national and international trade fairs. The traditional and original items were further maintained. At the same time, numerous new collections and items were created. Our nutcrackers consist of approx. 35 individual parts and are completed in around 150 work steps. "Smart things from the Erzgebirge" - this collection now includes almost 100 different ball incense figures.
