This is an antique mortar and pestle. Please study the photos for the most accurate description of condition.

My Notes:

Top rim diameter is just shy of 4 3/4”

Height of mortar is just shy of 4 1/2”

Pestle is about 7 inches long.

Comes with many decades of rust.

As found, not cleaned.

Base has raised letters:

LOS ANGELES CAL.

MFD BY F W BRAUN

Damage and loss to the base’s rim.

Looks like a repair weld was attempted in this area too. See photo of base.

Dates to the latter half of the 19th century.
