Really pleased with the book and service, thank you! Duncan Stevens, Sussex, UK (balhallam1) 26/11/23

BOOK INFO, READ ON! -

In 1978 R. P Hunnicutt issued his “Sherman - A History of the American Medium Tank”

which set the standard for authoritative research into this iconic tank.

Thirty-five years later, in 2013 this bar was raised when Pat Stansell issued the

“Son of Sherman” - a 386-page volume detailing the nuances of the various models,

manufacturers and production runs of the Sherman tank. This book sold out almost immediately,

and now routinely sells on the secondary market for 2 to 6 times its original issue price!

Now, a decade later, Stansell raises the bar even higher, with this massive,

two-volume 972 page book that considerably expands the depth and scope

of knowledge concerning the M4 Sherman series in WWII.

This book will surely be the “Gold Standard” reference on the Sherman for the next 35 years.

This publication consists of two bound volumes in a stiff slipcase.

The 26 chapters comprising the two volumes are divided into three “books”

(think of the Holy Bible - one volume consisting of 66 “Books” - Genesis, Exodus,

…Matthew, Mark...). There are also four appendices, a four-page bibliography, two indexes

(nine pages), and a glossary (also provided in bookmark form).

Don’t be mislead into thinking that this publication contains three bound volume,

nor should you believe that these two volumes are “follow on” to the prior edition.

While built around the 2013 edition 386-page book, this new work is, in fact different,

considerably different. What material remains the same? Only some of the photographs.

The entire book has been rewritten, more or less from scratch.

Some of the 2013 text was used as the nucleus for the new material,

and a sentence-by-sentence search may yield some repetition. But, by and large,

EVERYTHING has been revised and rewritten—including any original captions.

Very little of the 2013 drawing material remains.

The bottom hull drawings are present but are now separate.

All drawings are now complete four-view sets that include all parts of the vehicle.

The component chapters are closest to the 2013 book,

but all material has been revised, expanded, and reorganized.

For example, the original section on remanufacturing was ten pages, and it is now 34.

Also, despite some rumors that have surfaced, neither of these volumes is a reprint of the 2013 edition.

These are all new books, and while by necessity there is some duplication of content,

the duplicated content is overwhelmed by the new, unpublished, or revised material.

There are two chapters on Pressed Steel Car, three on Fisher Tank Arsenal,

and four on Chrysler Defense Arsenal. Many of the chapters are substantial and are

small books in their own right. For example, the first chapter on PSC is 64 pages,

and the total coverage of Chrysler Defense Arsenal is 149 pages.

There are 1,160 historical photos in the set and 440 color walk-around photos.

There are 110 drawing sets and 77 other original drawings.

There are ten historical drawings and 35 charts and graphs.

Hi First of all, many thanks for the looking.

Discount on postage! Sorry there isn't any - read on.

1) Postal charges go on weight, 'Not how many books are in one box etc' (and books are heavy) And it doesn't matter where in the world you are, France, USA, Australia etc. The prices are the same

2) If you didn't know All postal chargers around the World went up by around 30% in August 2020, due to Covid etc.

And have gone up 1st Jan 2024, and there isn't anything we can do about it, its all down to them.(And have gone up again in April 2024)

3) Due to Brexit, on 1st Jan 2021, Vat is going to be added to overseas postal services and export tax (even though books are Vat free here in the UK, this is going to change?)

4) After the 1st Jan, you will also have to pay a tax on receiving anything from the UK

If I am honest, Covid and Brexit, are really 'Messing' things up over here (and the rest of the world to)

Hand on Heart, I am now thinking of removing all overseas services from my sales. This will hurt our book sales, but the hassel's it is looking like its going to be, it is just not worth selling overseas anymore? Although we shall wait and see?

So sorry, but right now, we can offer any discount, as due to the above, so please DO NOT ask, as our prices are fixed and have been calulated on Royal Mail International 'Tracked/Signed For' posting

And before you ask, we will not send them any other way (Not surface, or any other Postal Company etc)

And also, after ebay/paypal fees etc, it just isn't worth it on our part, we just end up losing out.

So our prices are firm and fixed, and as advertised. So please do not complain to us about our p&p, we don't set these prices, All Postal services do.

Again thanks for looking

Returns policy! Due to copyright laws, we can not accept any books for returns. However if you have received the wrong book by mistake, or the book is damaged in anyway whatsoever, we will be happy to replace it. But We are not responsible for the return postage costs back to us - that is down to you.
