Offered for sale is a lovely antique round serving bowl made by Elson Glass, or possibly West Virginia Glass.  Pattern name is THE HERO, aka RUBY ROSETTE.  It featured circled diamond shapes in a repeating pattern.  The sides are satin frosted, and enamel painted with a floral design (wild roses, perhaps?).  Elson introduced this pattern in 1891, and it continued in production by West Virginia Glass in 1893.

It measures 8 5/8 inches (21.9cm) in diameter, and stands 3 1/2 inches (8.9cm) tall at the rim.  A U.S. quarter is shown in pictures 1 and 2, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance.

The glass is in excellent condition.  There are no cracks or repairs, but there is one barely-visible chip on the rim.  It's less than 1/8 inch long.

All my items are from a SMOKE FREE home.  Watch for the other fine antique and EAPG glass items I'm offering this week!

I pack all items in sturdy cartons with plenty of cushioning.  My shipping time is a HIGH estimate -- I can usually ship faster than the estimated time.  I am happy to combine shipping to save on postage IF doing so will not risk breakage of fragile items.  If you win more than one of my items, please wait for a revised invoice before sending payment.

International customers please be aware that there may be additional import duties and customs fees not included in the price of shipping.  I will do what I can to keep the shipping costs low while still packing each item safely.  Used items will be marked as such on the customs forms, which may reduce or eliminate import fees to some countries.

Good luck and thanks for looking!
