Very breakable hard plastic, brittle and often finely decorated. 

This box is from ALLENS SWEETS Melbourne. 

AMAZING DESIGN not dissimilar to a flying saucer having landed, but is, in reality like a fancy sugar bowl with retractable lid.  

Very ornate little feet & edges.

How did this ever survive ??  'Uranium glass green' fluoro lid and cream body.

Base is embossed with Allens Ltd Melbourne in the centre.

This item may clean up better - been in a dusty box for some years.  

Whole item is in excellent condition.   I doubt there is another around, but if so, it would be no better that this lovely example.

It is about 5" x 5" x 4" high.
