MAN AND BOY
Sixty-year-old Mr. FRANK METTAM is seen here dressing one of the huge flint millstones which grind the corn in a centuries-old watermill in the village of Ollerton, near Worksop.
The mill, believed to be the last in Nottinghamshire still powered entirely by water, stands on the banks of the River Maun, on the edge of Sherwood Forest. Mr. Mettam, a coal merchant, worked in the mill as a boy.
Now he runs it in his spare time and is kept busy grinding corn for animal foodstuffs.
He can turn out five hundredweight in an hour.
