A particularly nice example of a late 19th century American antique twisted wire work basket that was likely used for eggs in that period. Would be excellent for displaying your collection of stone or velvet fruit and vegetables. The wire has a black finish which has gathered a bit of dust. Note that the bowl of the basket does not sit perfectly level which, in my opinion, adds to its charm. It measures 7 3/8 inches to the highest point of the top edge and 7 1/8 inches to the lowest point of the top edge. The diameter across the top is 8 1/2 inches. The diameter across the bottom of the base is 6 inches.
