Rare Bisque Headed Popeye Doll / Figure C1930s

This rare and very early Popeye doll has a velvet body which seems to be stuffed with wood shavings. There is a split in one of the legs where shavings are clearly visible.

Presumably, he would have had a hat which is missing. He is quite play worn and there is an old repair to the top of his left leg, as can clearly be seen in the photographs. 

Popeye measures approximately 21cm in length and weighs about 80g.
