Game played at the Nassau Coliseum on 1/6/1976.  The Islanders soundly beat the Kansas City Scouts 8-1 in one of very few meetings between the 2 teams, as the Scouts only existed for 2 seasons before moving to Colorado and then to New Jersey a few more seasons after going to Colorado.

It was the 8th ever meeting between the 2 teams.  There would only be 10 meetings.  It was one of only 160 Kansas City Scouts games ever played.

Jude Drouin scored a hat trick for the Islanders, his only career hat trick.

Other Islander goals were scored by Bryan Trottier, his 16th career goal, Clark Gillies, Billy Harris, and 2 by Gerry Hart.  Hart also had 2 assists for a 4 point game.  The Kansas City goal was scored by Denis Dupere.

Ed Westfall assisted on 3 goals.  Trottier and Denis Potvin also had assists, among many other Islander assists.

Billy Smith was the winning goaltender.

In addition to Hall of Famers Smith, Gillies, Potvin, and Trottier appearing in the game, Craig Patrick played for Kansas City and would eventually be enshrined in the Hall as well.

Very oddly, in an 8-1 win and allowing only one goal, Lorne Henning was the only member of the Islanders to have a +/- rating of -1 for the game.

Ticket stub is the same color on both sides.  As will happen at times with photography and lighting, sometimes the colors in pictures don't reflect the actual colors.  The background piece of paper is actually white, though it appears blue in the pictures, and the color of the stub is not exactly true in the pictures.  The photo of the printed side of the stub is closer to the actual blue shade of the ticket.

Ticket holder had written the score on the back of the stub, as pictured.
