ITEM DESCRIPTION

This is a rare military watch used on an RAF aircraft camera that was developed for the electric Lightning Interceptor fighter aircraft from the 1960s.

This is an IWC watch marked with a broad arrow and 10AF/807 N.I. 299 on the screw-back.

The inside of the case's back is branded JWC and marked stainless steel.
The movement inside is signed International Watch Co. Also numbered 1811217 between the plates.
CAL 89 movement type.

Seems to be in good working condition. Only issue I can see on mine is the porcelain white dial and the inner black line just above the 6 o'clock number has come off the porcelain, I have seen this sort of paint loss before on other porcelain dials.

There are many websites relating to these interesting camera timer clocks or however they worked. You will see they think there was only about 500 ever made and there will be less complete examples survived as they were taken apart and used for other later timer IWC watches along the way, well here is one which I have had in my collection for about 10 years.
Blued hands and ticking away happy now.

Interesting reading about these and you will see a number for sale on ebay as well as a couple coming through the live auction houses.

Check out RAF Binbrook for more info.

Please see close-up photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition for yourself.
Condition report: Normal signs of age and use wear including some surface scuffs and minor impact marks.

It measures approx. 35mm in diameter in total. In a chunky housing which has a small 13mm dia. window to see the dial. Screw off back with all the right detail on the back. It is 12.5mm deep case and has 2 stuck up brass parts these are slightly different to one another. Winder at the side. With the brass bits stuck up its 17.6mm tall. It weighs approx. 61.2 grams.

My stock ref : #MB my collection - in pocket and wrist watch cabinet.

Postage policies:

International overseas buyers please read this first - I use Global Shipping Program - GSP to send items to you.
GSP sorts any paperwork etc. which enables items to get through customs much faster than other delivery company.

I am offering FREE postage to the GSP hub in the UK.
GSP then decide on the cost of shipping, sales tax, and possible other charges etc. - All this information can found on the listing BEFORE bidding or buying.
I have no control over the prices that GSP set.

Unfortunately GSP do open the packages they receive to check the contents and then re-wrap them for the forward journey to you. This has caused some issues in the past so please take my word that I personally wrap all items as best I can to survive the trip, but GSP sometimes do not take as much care as I do when re-wrapping.

The shipping time is usually very quick but as you can appreciate there may be delays for any number of reasons which are out of both mine and your control. Thank you.

I now offer FREE shipping - postage on the majority of my eBay items. You can also arrange to COLLECT your item from my actual antique shop if that is easier for you.

To see ALL my other 7000+ items for sale, please click on VISIT SHOP or see other items. Strangely, both options seem to only give a limited view of what I have to offer, so to see everything I have available, click on Shop by Category which will give you a much better view.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal sized Coke can (330ml).

If you see A/F = a/f in the title or description it means "as found" condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F  for " as found " for 45 years.
