1950's Classic Toy with String and Still in the Package

No plastic here! The spinning wood top is a classic toy that was popular from the 1800's through the mid 1950's when plastic toys took over. This wood top has the typical characteristic inverted tear-drop shape. It's 3 inches high, has a metal spinning pin, and comes with the original string. Unused and still in the package. Toys like this are fun. Kids used to have contests to see who could keep theirs spinning the longest. Once the fancy plastic toys started coming out, classics like these died out never to be made again.

We found a few unopened, Store Display Boxes, of them that were boxed up for decades on a back shelf at a dime store distributors. The Counter Top Display Box contains an assortment of green, blue and red tops, in the box, Bagged up with the original string cord, just the way the Dime Store got them.
