In 1946, the Swedish aircraft manufacturer Saab secretly built the first prototype for a car, model 92.001, later also known as UrSaab or the original Saab.
The car, which can be seen today at the Saab Car Museum in Trollhättan, managed to drive more than half a million kilometers on deserted Swedish forest roads and underwent several design improvements before the final production model, the Saab 92, could go into production in 1949.
