Charming early 1900s Japanese Pottery Impasto Enamel Decorated Teapot Presented is a very charming Japanese porcelain teapot, dating to circa -jm
1900-1920. The lower portion of the teapot is beautifully decorated with heavy
impasto enamel decoration in white and green in the form of stylized flowers,
against a light buff background. The upper portion is decorated with classical
blue and white glaze foliate and scroll decoration. The teapot has a capacity of
about 4 cups, or 32 fluid ounces/0.94 liters.
flaking to the glaze at the tip of the spout, which is very hard to notice even
close up, unless you run your finger over it to feel the texture. There are no
other flakes or chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
The teapot measures about 7 3/4 inches from spout to handle and stands about
5 inches tall.
