The majority of the Koh Ker sculpture are monumental and carved in sandstone, but a few significant bronze image can also be identified a fierce looking rampant bronze lion zoomorphic imagery product during Koh Ker period.

The lion stands on a circular base with a pendant tang that filled into the top of stand. The lion 's face characterized by bulging round eyes, thick bushy eyebrows and open jaws reviling sharp teeth. His mane and the ruff neck are presented by stylized curls set in orderly rows, creating a pattern that contrast with the smooth of his body. lion figures played a major rules as temple guardians at Khmer sanctuaries, even though the lion never excited among the fauna of Cambodia. The lion were considered an emblem of royalty a belief ultimately traceable to ancient India.

The lion mouth is open, as if he is about to sound a warning roar to anyone who defies him. His two forepaws are raised to ward of any potential enemy, a confrontational  gesture represented on many Khmer battle standard. The lion's gestures reflected prescribed movement that derive from Khmer classic royal bullet, still an important cultural institution today " Khmer Classic dance , in which body language is used to tell a story his a long history in Cambodia that dates back to Pre- Angkor  time and its gestures are often represented in Khmer sculptures.

 and musicals instruments to various deities and temple throughout early Khmer history.
