"Doris" 1968 Morris Mini Mk2 Super Deluxe
This car has received a full restoration over the last 10 years, and has been in
the family all that time. Previous to this it had been stored in a garage since
1974 where it sat until we bought it. It has had 3 owners from new.
Body - the shell was shot blasted to remove any rust and the following panels
were then replaced; front panel, wings, bonnet, A panel (inner and outer), inner
wings repaired, L/H and R/H full length floor panels, rear quarters, door skins,
boot floor, rear wheel arches, rear valance, boot hinge panel, replacement boot
lid. The body was then prepped and painted in original colour of El Paso Beige.
Engine - is the original 850cc and has been fully rebuilt. It has been bored out
+40, new pistons, new bearings, new oil pump, timing gear, the cylinder head
has been converted to unleaded and rebuilt. The original radiator and heater
matrix have been reconditioned
Gearbox - is the original 4 speed 3 syncromesh remote box fully rebuilt.
Brakes-original drum setup all round fully rebuilt with new parts throughout
Steering and suspension fully rebuilt throughout new original rear subframe,
front subframe blasted and painted all components blasted and painted, all
bearings and bushes replaced. Original hydrolastic suspension reconditioned
throughout. Original wheels stripped and painted then fitted with new tyres.
Interior seats and door cards recovered in vinyl done to original spec. New
carpet, original headlining. Original clocks and gauges.
Exterior - original grill, new bumpers, lights and trim throughout. Original
hubcaps have been polished.
This has been a no expense spared restoration and everything has been repaired,
replaced or reconditioned. The car is mot exept. It has covered a few miles
since the rebuild and the engine is still running in. The engine has been tuned
and runs lovely. The car is the same underneath as it is on top and was restored
to a high standard. Full photographic restoration album. V5 present. Mk2 were
only in production for 18 months so is quite a rare model.
