16th / 17th Century Carved Oak Dove / Bird Table Casket 

This is an early carved Oak table casket, the panels are 16th / 17th century which have been made as a casket probably in the early 1800's. The lid deeply relief carved with a dove among scrolling fruit, the sides with upright leaves & a single curious scallop shell are all most probably Elizabethan, circa late 1500's.

CONDITION section damaged at the rear, dark & rich original patination - as per images

The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
