Original photos are from Edward P. Faulkner of Boise, Idaho who enlisted in the US Marines on December 5, 1928. As a PFC and later Corporal he was in the 92nd Company and served as a Military Police Main Gate Guard at Pearl Harbor 1929-1930 and then in the 117th Company at Pearl Harbor in 1931. After a stint at Mare Island as a corporal from 1931-1933 he was assigned to Company A of the Marine Embassy Guard Detachment (Legation Detachment) at Peiping (now Beijing), China from 1933-1937 during which time he was promoted to Sergeant in 1936. In January 1937 he was assigned to the Marine Detachment on the USS Chaumont. During WWII he rose to the rank of Major in the 1st Marine Division fighting in the Pacific Theater. Quite a career!
