Canada 2000 Family of Bears $2 Specimen Coin In Maple Wood Box (Official Royal Canadian Mint Issue)

A small number of specimen $2 coins were issued by the Mint in their test-marketing program. These coins are individually packaged in a Royal Canadian Mint maple wood box, with the design of the coin laser engraved into it.

This was the only way these specimen $2 coins (each with a satin finish) were issued singly.

The original mintage was well under 5,000 for each coin!
