English Walnut is another wood with a cult following. It has a tone like rosewood but with a more even distribution and no dip in the mid range and slightly less bottom end. It is one of the only tonewoods that doesn't favor a particular frequency. It is very forgiving when bending. English Walnut with figure is just slightly harder to bend than Black Walnut, but not by much.  It is the main source of edible walnuts and now grows wild, contrary to the name and popular belief, in the US. I have to charge a little more for this set because it's not nearly as common as black walnut and is becoming expensive and harder to find.
