Handmade by me, never worn.  Girl's Civil War era dress.  Handmade with blue shimmer cotton.  The front of the bodice is decorated with black trim and three fabric covered buttons.  The back of the bodice closes with six buttons. The two tiers of the skirt are decorated with black trim.  The pagoda sleeves are decorated with black trim.  The collar is white cotton trimmed with lace. The white cotton undersleeves have a cuff with button closure.  The bodice is lined with blue cotton.  The sleeves are attached to the bodice and enclosed with bias tape.  The skirt panels are sewn with French seams.  All seams in the dress are enclosed.
The "underpinngs" are made with ivory cotton and decorated with lace insertion and pintucks.
The dress and underpinnings were made using McCalls pattern M5131 and Butterick pattern B5901 in a girl's size 8. (Patterns not for sale)   Check pictures for tape measurements of width and length.  (I did not make the hoop skirt from the pattern). This would be great for a costume or reenactment.
I won a blue ribbon, First Place, for textiles at the Georgia National Fair.
