Art Deco & Diamonds

Among the highlights is a fine collection from a private estate in St. Louis, Missouri, featuring a number of diamond and art deco pieces, including an Art Deco Platinum and Diamond Bracelet by Chaumet, (Lot 718, estimated between $30,000 to $40,000). This collection also includes an Art Deco Diamond Pendant/Brooch, (Lot 719, estimate $8,000 to $10,000).

Other fine examples of this period include an Art Deco Platinum, Emerald, and Diamond Bracelet by Cartier (Lot 723, estimate $30,000 to $50,000) and an Art Deco Carved Emerald and Coral Purse Clasp from France (Lot 724, estimate $4,000 to $6,000).

“Art deco is such a popular period at auction,” stated Bratberg. “Pieces are often hard to come by, but when they do appear at auction they tend to meet a great deal of enthusiasm among bidders.”

The top lot in this auction is a Harry Winston Platinum and Diamond Solitaire, weighing 6.61 cts., (Lot 725, estimate $225,000 to $275,000). An old European-cut Unmounted Diamond weighing 9.80 cts., (Lot 698, estimate $80,000 to $120,000) is also available, along with an exquisite Pair of Platinum, Ruby, and Diamond Dress Clips within removable 14kt gold jackets (Lot 685, estimate $5,000 to $7,000).
