This issue features The Ballad of Lost C’mell by Cordwainer Smith, Come into My Cellar by Ray Bradbury (original title of Boys! Raise Giant Mushrooms in Your Cellar!), The Earthman’s Burden by Donald E. Westlake, A City Near Centaurus by Bill Doede, How to Make Friends by Jim Harmon, Plague of Pythons (Part 1 of 2) by Frederik Pohl, Roberta by Margaret St. Clair, Bimmie Says by Sydney Van Scyoc, and Who Dares a Bulbur Eat? by Gordon R. Dickson. They are all the original first printings of these classic science fiction stories in any publication. This 194-page pulp magazine was published by the Galaxy Publishing Corporation and measures about 7½” x 5½”. The magazine features a wonderful painted cover by pulp artist Virgil Finlay and illustrations by Virgil Finlay, Templeton, West, Bob Ritter, and George Schelling inside. As shown in the photos, the magazine is in very good condition for its age with some cover wear and light soiling. The paper is intact along the magazine’s spine, and the magazine is complete and remains well bound. Its interior pages are clean with no writing, creases, rips, or tears. This rare vintage “Galaxy Science Fiction” pulp magazine would make a great addition to your collection!
