BEFORE BIDDING/PURCHASING PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION

For sale is the contents of a single Hamilton printer drawer that I recently acquired. The drawer itself is NOT FOR SALE, you will only be receiving all of the print blocks in this particular listing.

There are over 375+ pieces included in this listing. This listing is mainly numbers and letters… I don’t know what font it is… But by looking at most of these letters, they are solid lead… This definitely is an older set. I’m guessing this to be from the mid 1900’s.

These were located in a Hamilton brand cabinet, but I don’t know the brand of the letter press blocks themselves. I did randomly pull some of the pieces and look at them, and this is a combination of solid lead pieces, old-school, solid, wood pieces, and newer pieces (probably from the 1970s or 1980s) that were made on a plywood wood base. I do not know what fonts were used, nor do I know the exact point size of the pieces.

The metal tray/box that the items currently are in is NOT Included in this listing… You are only purchasing all of the metal/ type/letter press items that are currently in the tray.

I have placed various quarters on top of the printer blocks… These are to be used for size reference. The quarters are not included in the listing.

These pieces came from a local print shop that had been in business since the 1950s. In the 1950s, they acquired another 50+ year old print shop that had been in the same northwest Ohio town since the late 1800s. All of these pieces came from the original print shop… Having resided in the same town for over 100 years. These have never been on the open market before.

I will do my best to describe every item, but please refer to the pictures for the actual condition. The metal tray/box is NOT INCLUDED in this listing.

I have had many people ask me how I'm going to package/ship these since I clearly state that the metal tray is not included. I will take groups of the print blocks and wrap them in paper towels, and place them in plastic bags. When you receive the package from me, it will probably contain multiple bags with everything tightly packed. I am comfortable that these will ship in good shape. If you have concerns or specific requests, please contact me in advance. After I’ve taken the initial photos of these items, I will immediately be packing them for shipping… I will not be able to go back and get specific measurements or specific photos of any items you see in the picture.

Shipping and handling will be $12.95 to lower 48 states, outside of this area will pay actual shipping charges. As stated before, the box/tray in the picture is NOT included in this listing. I will do my best to over engineer any package that I have… But because these are lead and wood, this is a heavy item. Once again, you are NOT getting the tray with this… So please have some container or some thing on your end to hold/sort them in.
