5 elementi in tre gruppi. Diaframma a dieci lamelle da f/2 a f/32 con clic (phantom stop a f/45). Messa a fuoco a 1 m. Gli elementi dell'obiettivo sono monorivestiti con il primo dei "superrivestimenti" duri Nikon. Le prestazioni sono buone a f/2, ottime a partire da f/2,8. L'ottimale è f/8. Dimensione filtro 48 mm.
