1950's emerald green and white striped/floral

 cotton blend party dress by ALIX OF MIAMI. 

 This company made beautiful cocktail, party, 

dinner dresses and swimwear with

 a tropical flair during the 1950’s and 1960’s and on.

The designer of these clothes was Alix Schneidman.

 The dress has a ruffled, scalloped neckline, elasticized

 on top of shoulders, a folded bust with a built in bralette, 

 a snug fitted bodice with princess seamed panels, 

figure flattering dropped waist and ultra full skirt.

The cap sleeves sit slightly off the shoulders. 

The hem was completely replaced and put in by hand.

 The stitching holding the built in bra was replaced.

 The skirt is lined with a built in crinoline, 

original metal zipper up the back (works perfectly). 

Slight yellow wear to the inside bodice and 

some on inside of hem (unseen when worn). 

 It was found in great conditon but as with most vintage items

 this dress has been previously worn and is over 60 years old.

The dress was carefully inspected for rips, tears, stains, weak spots

 and if any found was removed, repaired or reinforced.

It is freshly washed by hand in cold water, pressed and ready to wear.
