DESCRIPTION

- An antique/vintage blue leather ring box with decorative gilding from Heffern-Neuhoff (they are fine jewellers based in St. Louis, Missouri). This fine-quality jewelry box (estimated circa 1913 - 1955) is lined with ivory-coloured satin. It would add a unique touch to your proposal, engagement shoot, wedding ceremony, or accompany a treasured piece of jewelry.

On the exterior, in gold lettering:

Some relevant dates:

- Samuel Heffern and George Neuhoff Jr., founded Heffern-Neuhoff Jewelers in 1913 in the heart of downtown St. Louis

- In 1955, Elleard Heffern, the founder’s nephew, took over and expanded. Elleard Heffern is one of the oldest jewellers in the St. Louis area, specializing in fine jewelry, diamonds and rare gems. They are still in operation today

- Length: Approx. 37.3 mm 

- Width: Approx. 19.8 mm

- Height: Approx. 31.8 mm

- It can accommodate a ring with a thin to narrow-width band (up to approx. 2 mm)

- Note: This ring box is more suitable for a ring with a low profile/setting, as the satin lining prevents the band from reaching the bottom of the ring box

CONDITION 

- Overall, the jewelry box is in excellent antique/vintage condition and still enjoyable for many more years to come. It bears signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Surfaces have marks and scratches that one would expect in a piece of this age. These ‘imperfections’ add character to the piece rather than take away from it

- There is light wear/loss to the leather, primarily around the lower right-hand side of the ring box (near the push button), the push button, and the hinge 

- The interior is clean and does not have any unpleasant scent

- The hinge, push button, and catch are all intact. The jewelry box opens and closes well

- All of the above are shown in the photos provided

- There is no visible evidence of a previous repair or restoration
