Someone at BR has gone rogue and made their 08 a convertible 😂😂😂😂.

As you can see this extremely well made class 08 is missing its roof. When I first got the loco it was a non runner. I have added a new motor and gearbox so it now runs really nicely. I contemplated fashioning a new roof out of brass but then it would need a respray and refinishing. I also thought about using a roof from a Dapol 08 . It’s close but just a little bit too small. I also considered forming one out of plasticard which would slot into place but I eventually came to the conclusion that I have way too many projects on the go at the moment and I only model in the steam era anyway. So here it is in all its glory, ready for a new owner who can decide what to do about the roof .
