1854 $3 The Merchants' Exchange Bank note from Anacostia, D.C.

This short-lived bank only operated from 1854 until it closed around 1855. 

This note features a Vignette of an allegorical figure seated with a shield below the arched title. On the left is a Vignette of Mercury. 

This note grades Very Fine with a hinge on the reverse and a small chip on the top edge.
