Fresh from an old local estate is a beautiful Edwardian wool walking suit.
It is a thick navy blue with black weave wool, the jacket has a fancy embellished collar, fancy buttons and is lined with a silk taffeta.
The long skirt closes with hooks.
The jacket measures laid flat 18" across the bust pit to pit, 16" across the waist, 24" long and 14 1/2" between the back shoulder seams.
The skirt measures 12 1/2" across the waist, 22" across the hips and 41" long.
This set is in overall excellent condition for its age. The skirt however, has three inner patches covering some thin areas in the wool that were done decades ago and are very well hidden and not distracting in my opinion, plus they are covered by the jacket when worn.
there are a few other thin spots in the wool on the skirt, but are hard to notice.
there is a small tear/separation in the lining by the collar, see picture.
Overall, this is solid and wearable and will make a fine addition to any collection!
