The Case

An impressive burr walnut Biedermeier Viennese Regulator wall clock, dating circa 1855.
The outstanding case surmounted with the carved original pediment, Gothic gilt wood decorations, The case interior veneered with the beautifully figured walnut The moulded and shaped base terminating with the original delicately carved base decoration.  

Dial

The 8" diameter two piece enamelled dial with Roman numerals, surrounded by an inner and outer piecrust bezel. 

Movement

The outstanding quality, Grande Sonnerie three train movement of the highest quality striking on two blued steel curled gongs, with maintaining power and deadbeat escapement. Strike silent facility.

Weight & Pendulum

Three large polished brass cased weights, with ornate spoked pulleys, polished brass bob pendulum (front and back) with ebonised wooden rod.

Hands

Finely fretted blued steel hands of the highest qualtity. Original winding key.


A truly exceptional clock and certainly one of the finest examples we have seen from the biedermeier period.


8 day quarter striking movement with additional hour strike each quarter.

This wonderful walnut wall clock is in stunning condition without major damage, just a few age related marks that you would expect and fully working order, keeping good time and striking as it should.
