Up for sale is a Vintage “Galaxy Science Fiction” Pulp Magazine! This is the rare February 1953 issue, Volume 5 Number 5. This issue features Four in One by Damon Knight, Protective Mimicry by Algis Budrys, Saucer of Loneliness by Theodore Sturgeon, Watchbird by Robert Sheckley, Know Thy Neighbor by Elisabeth R. Lewis, and Ring Around the Sun (Part 3 of 3) by Clifford D. Simak. They are all the original first printings of these classic science fiction stories in any publication. This 160-page pulp magazine was published by the Galaxy Publishing Corporation and measures about 7⅜” x 5⅜”. The magazine features a wonderful painted cover by pulp artist Mel Hunter and illustrations by William Ashman, Ed Emshwiller, Tom Beecham, and Don Sibley inside. As shown in the photos, the magazine is in acceptable condition with noticeable cover wear and soiling, including some paper loss, tears, and pieces missing from the cover. The paper is intact along the magazine’s spine, and the magazine is complete and remains well bound. Its interior pages are generally clean with no writing, rips, or tears, and they have darkened a little with age. Several pages have a water stain, and some up front have chipped, creased, and rounded corners. This rare vintage “Galaxy Science Fiction” pulp magazine would make a great addition to your collection!
