The Beatles Please Please Me 1st dick James press type 2b.

Another rarer than rare record you are ever likely to see for sale.

Featured on the newly updated information site beatlebay UK as a first press - type 2b(ii) , this copy was pressed on a machine that was typically last used in the late 50's.

This is a new type of pressing to come to light and was pressed on an even older machine. We know this as there are previous gold Mono labels pressed with this punched out centre ring from 1958-61 by such artists as Adam Faith and other EMI light music releases of the time.

Still using the original first gold text layout on side 1, the difference here is the extended or "Stretched" first line (1.Love Me Do..) on the side 2 label. Very rare to see this.

This edition also has an Inner Ring which is punched in, & opposite to the side 2 Inner ring which is punched out!. They can also have an extra 3/4 or full ring Outer light indent on side 1 only but this is a plain one and is rarer still.

Stampers are 1GG / 1P for this one and only run.

These are argued to have been released along side the very first editions to be pressed, more info can be found on the website.

These are incredibly rare and only now are people realizing their place and tend to keep good ones IF they come up.

VERY VERY hard to get really good ones and mint ones I don't think exist, and I don't think I've ever seen one.
This one is nice and plays perfectly with both a mono 1.0mm and a stereo 0.7mm needle.

I estimate there couldn't have been more than 50 of these ever pressed and most of the early ones were trashed at parties.

I have been on the look out for this extended version/type/edition for years and have only ever collected 2 in all that time.
If you are into collecting labels, you need this one as I doubt you ever find another.

Condition of this record is generally in VG condition with lots of light non feelable marks and scratches but plays absolutely fine and is my only double of this edition so don't need to keep it.
Labels considering are gold leaf again VG and are very clear too.

The 1st press E J Day sleeve is an EX-/ VG copy with a lovely shine to the front.

EMITEX sleeve is included (not shown) and is in VG++ condition with no rips.

Please bid with confidence as full money back guarantee given if you feel this is not as described!
