Vintage picnic basket. Small size. Measures approximately 10.25 inches long, 7 inches at widest point and stands 5.5 inches from base to top of basket and 10 inches from base to top of handle. Good condition. Shows some wear with splits to some of the weaves. There is a shallow "shave" on the handle (see inset) which appears to have been original to the piece. Lid is removable. The lid is double hinged with brass fittings. The handle or bail is fixed in the upright position (it does not fold down). PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HANKIE SHOWN IS NOT INCLUDED. Wood and wood slat with brass nails and fittings.

This is an absolutely adorable little basket. It would add interest to any seasonal display - Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, May Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day and even Halloween. It would also be a nice little storage piece for sewing, cosmetics or small linens, or as a presentation "gift wrap" for a special event.
