Presented is a wonderful Acoma Pueblo Native American made pottery vase or seed pot. This is a relatively modern piece, made in the 20th century, but the style is timeless. The vase is done in black, white and red, with eye-catching patterns and zoomorphic designs throughout. The top side of the pot features very intricate stylized animals and insects, with white outlines and red detailing that really pops against the black ground. I see a dragonfly, a lizard, a quail, a beetle, a turtle, and other creatures, all with various interior patterns and geometric decoration. The rest of the pot is black and white in a pattern that appears to move as you look at it from different angles, giving the piece a lot of appeal and 'draw' to the eye, hence why this style of pottery is often called an “eye dazzler,” since the effect really is quite striking. The quality of the decoration and the pottery itself is exceptional, all skillfully executed by hand.

The vase is signed D./P. as Acoma, New Mexico. Unfortunately we don't know whose signature this is, but the piece is very high quality regardless.

This piece is in excellent condition. The vase rings well when tapped. There are no chips, no breaks, and no repairs.

The vase measures about 8 1/2 inches in diameter and stands about 6 1/8 inches tall.
