This is an extremely attractive, very limited edition 2012-13 Upper Deck Artifacts Emerald Parallel Tundra Tandems Dual Patch Relics Card (#TT-GB) (06/36) of the recently retired, fifteen-year NHL veteran defenseman and two-time All-Star, Mike Green, and his long-time teammate, Nicklas Backstrom, Ovechkin's consummate set-up man.
Green was a first-round pick of the Capitals in the 2004 draft who spent the first ten years of his career in Washington, before signing with the Red Wings for the final five seasons (the last two games of which he played for Edmonton, after a trade and before the 2019-20 season suspension). An offensive defenseman, Green tallied 150 regular season goals and added 351 assists, breaking the 500 points mark for his career.
Backstrom was the runner-up for the Calder Trophy as a rookie and an NHL All-Star in 2015-16. Through the 2022-23 season, he'd scored 1,032 career regular-season points (with 101 in 2009-10). Included in that total are 761 assists (a stat in which he led the league in 2014-15 with 60), making Backstrom the franchise's all-time leader in that category. After injuring his hand blocking a Penguin's shot in Game 5 of the second round of the 2017-18 playoffs, Backstrom returned late in the Lightning series to help the Caps reach the finals and continued his usual playmaking thereafter, scoring a total of five goals and adding 18 assists (second only to teammate Evgeny Kuznetsov in playoff assists) to help lead the Caps to their first Stanley Cup.
