Nice looking E F Johnson “6N2” six and two-meter VHF transmitter.  Front panel is nice with original knobs and crisp lettering.  The little white indicator pegs are missing from the knobs, as is usually the case.  I started to remove the Civil Defense sticker from the front panel with a hair dryer but decided to leave that decision to the buyer.  Personally, I would keep it to reflect the history of this unit.  The case needs repainting but there are no dents, dings or extra holes.  Also, the final tube is missing (5894A) but these are available on eBay for a reasonable cost.  I have provided photos from all angles along with photos of the top and bottom of the chassis, so you can see exactly what you are bidding on.

I do not have the external power supply, so I was unable to power this unit up.  Since this unit uses screws instead of rivets to secure components to the chassis, it was assembled from a kit.  Construction quality looks good.

While I have described this transmitter as accurately as possible, please note that vintage tube radio equipment is best enjoyed by those with an understanding of electronics and the ability/equipment to work on them.  This unit is over 60 years old and may require replacement of some components to get it working to original factory specs.  For this reason, I’m listing this radio for “parts or not working” per eBay rules which pretty much state that an item has to be functioning like new to be classified as “used.”  This unit also has potentially dangerous voltages present and only an experienced and qualified person should attempt any repairs.
