A collection of eight short stories told in the Science Fiction, Slipstream, Horror, and Human Interest genres. Slipstream is a kind of fantastic or non-realistic fiction that crosses conventional genre boundaries between science fiction, fantasy, horror, and literary fiction -- Think: X Files, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits. Slipstream has also been defined as the fiction of strangeness, the surreal, the not-entirely-real, or the markedly anti-real. While some slipstream stories employ elements of science fiction, horror or fantasy, not all do. Some say that cognitive dissonance is at the heart of slipstream; this author adds the metaphorical as another literary effect of slipstream. Each story carries a message about our human condition and how everyday people (the characters) overcome huge challenges.
