Up for sale is a Vintage Set of Thirty (30) Wooden Checkers in their original box! The box is only marked “Checkers” No. 5-W with a W in diamond logo. The checkers were most likely made by Halsam Products in Chicago, Illinois back in the 1930s or early-1940s! (Similar sets were sold under the Hal-Sam name at the time.) This is the complete set of thirty checkers, fifteen each in red and black. The checkers are wooden and measure about 1¼” in diameter by just over a ¼” thick. They feature a Crown on one side and the Empire State Building skyscraper on the other. As shown in the photos, the checkers are all in very good condition for their age with a little light play wear. The images are sharp and the edges are smooth with very few (if any) tiny nicks. The box has classic red and white advertising graphics with bright colors and sharp details. The box top has some surface wear and light soiling, including one bumped and split corner. There are no split corners on the box bottom. This vintage set of wooden checkers would make a great addition to your collection!
