Tom Sawyer Abroad, Tom Sawyer Detective, and Other Stories by Mark Twain published by Harper & Brothers, New York, 1917. Hardcover. Illustrated.

This book is a collection of short novels, short stories, gathered tales and sketches by Mark Twain. A collection of masterful literature that would make for a worthy addition to any bookshelf.

Tom Sawyer Abroad is a parody of adventure stories. Exploring the wonders of the world from a hot-air balloon, Tom Sawyer and his friends, Huckleberry Finn and Jim, visit the Great Pyramids of Giza, face down lions and dodge robbers during an epic adventure that tests their mettle and the bonds of friendship.

Tom Sawyer Detective is Twain’s satirical take on the immensely popular detective novels of the time. When a murder is committed in town and his uncle is accused of the crime, Tom, with Huck's help, is forced to take on the role of detective, and even courtroom lawyer, in order to save his uncle and solve the mystery.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens (1835–1910): Mark Twain is considered to be one of the greatest writers in American literature. His works often dealt with themes of childhood innocence, the struggles of growing up, and the realities of life in the American South.
