Heart shaped box.

A lovely antique sterling silver heart shaped box with and a blue oval Jasperware insert with a picture of a greek goddess on it.

The box is in good condition for age. I believe the inside was guilded although this has been worn away over time. Please look closely at the photos.

Box is a nice trinket size, however due to original guilding may once have been originally designed as a snuff box.

Hallmarks

Lion = Sterling silver

3 Wheat sheaves surrounding a sword = Chester assay mark.

Date letter 'E' is for 1905.

Makers mark "C & C" I believe is for Cohen & Charles. Albert Cohen & Charles Solomon trading as Cohen & Charles, Thavies Inn Holborn Circus London.
