One Beautiful Ladder Back Arm Chair with Rush Seat

Preowned vintage item. Heirloom quality! Light surface wear attributed to age, gentle use and storage in the form of a few light scratches and scuffs. Nothing that detracts from function or beauty. The whole thing is extremely well made, solid and sturdy - including the rush seat, which is woven tightly. There is no loose joinery. No wobble.

Backrest slats are carved and curved slightly, a nice design element for added comfort.

Hand turned wood. The wood used to make this chair is a lighter brown color. It appears to be maple, but I am not an expert and cannot confirm. PLEASE MESSAGE ME IF YOU NEED MORE PHOTOS UNDER DIFFERENT TYPES OF LIGHTING TO ASSESS COLOR/TYPE OF WOOD. IM HAPPY TO DO THAT FOR YOU TO HELP YOU DECIDE.

Colonial style. This item is unmarked except for a number “823” stamped on underside of one armrest and a small square “21” stamped on underside of rush seat in corner, so maker is not confirmed. It is similar in style and quality to chairs made by Tell City, Nichols & Stone, Ethan Allen and other late 19th / early 20th century American furniture makers.

Extremely well made.
