French PAIR Antique Old Paris Porcelain Tea Cup and Saucer Hand Painted Chariots
A
wonderful pair of two hand painted porcelain cabinet cups and saucers with lovely Roman figures and chariots depicted on them. The black outlines of the figures are transfer printed and the colors have been hand painted.
The cups and saucers have lovely fine gilt details. This set was made in Paris, and the pieces have marks on them of the Parisian shop that sold them 'Forest Tarbes, Porcelaine & Cristaux'. They are Old Paris porcelain. This is a rare pair of cups and the theme is quite unusual, making them lovely collector pieces!
Probably made around 1900-1920, in France.
Dimensions:
Height cups: about 2 1/2 inch or 6.5 cm
Diameter saucers: about 5 inch or 12.5 cm
Condition: Good antique condition. No chips, cracks or restores. Some shape irregularities in the porcelain, showing its handmade nature, and some very minor wear to the paint and gilding, see
the photos. *Flower in the first photo is not included.
