Five western paperbacks by Lauren Paine, a prolific writer of 500 westerns and crime noir who was initially published in England for many years in the 1950s & 1960s. A descendent of writer Thomas Paine from the revolutionary war, “These are the times that try men’s souls…the sunshine patriot…”. Sorry, that’s all I can recall offhand. George Washington really liked him until he renounced God and his American citizenship to join the French revolution. His new friends jailed him. They didn’t like his free speech.

Lauran Paine books:

The New Mexico Heritage
Guns in Oregon
Tears of the Heart
The Dark Trail
The Horseman
