SIXTEEN LEGS double book set - Neil Gaiman, Bookend Trust
Kinky multi-legged love in Australia's deepest caves - direct
from the filmmakers themselves!
These are
the 2 tie-in hardback books that were released alongside production of the
SIXTEEN LEGS documentary, showcasing the artwork and photography of the
film.
‘SIXTEEN
LEGS: A Visit to the Queen of the Dark’ is a 44 page hardback
showcasing expanded versions of Jodee Taylah’s superb production art from the
film and the SIXTEEN LEGS: Enter the Cave Exhibition, alongside the
story components that were then under development with Neil Gaiman, Niall Doran
and Craig Wellington. The book also contains the scientific background to the
story, a glimpse behind the research and personal reflections on the
involvement of the participants above.
‘SIXTEEN
LEGS: Kinky Love’ is a science-based photographic journey through the
ecology and reproductive biology of the very unusual Tasmanian Cave Spider, and an archive
gallery of the original exhibition works, also in 44 page hardback.
“Giant Tasmanian Cave Spiders and NEIL GAIMAN!!
What more could you possibly want???” – GEORGE R.R.
MARTIN (Game of Thrones).
Journey
into a world like no other, where giant prehistoric spiders the size of dinner
plates seek kinky love in the dark. Award-winning cinematography documents the
25th anniversary of scientific research into animals that outlasted the
dinosaurs, survived the splitting of the continents and have endured the
entirety of human civilization in Australia’s deepest caves. A message of hope
comes from an unlikely hero beneath one of the world's last great wildernesses,
in a magical ecosystem that preceded us and may still outlast us.
A
real-world “Charlotte’s Web” featuring master storyteller Neil Gaiman with
Kate-Miller Heidke, Stephen Fry, Tara Moss, Mark Gatiss, Adam Hills and
scientific researchers and experts from around the globe.
