The long-awaited reprint of Al Cooper's first album, a masterpiece, and one of the most prestigious albums!

The first solo album released in 1968 by Al Kooper, an artist with many hats as a keyboardist, composer, producer, and singer-songwriter.

This work opens with the overture "Overture", which unfolds magnificently and features an orchestra from various sound collages, and the title song "Loneliness in the City", which is the theme of Al's singer-songwriter side. Continuing with "I Stand Alone", "Camile" exquisitely incorporates a soulful yet classical essence featuring brass, "One", a cover from Harry Nilsson's second album that enhances the level of chamber ballad, and S.E. "Coloured Rain", a cover of Traffic that stands out in its class, "Soft Landing on the Moon" featuring Al's organ solo, and "I Can Love A Woman" with a beautiful arrangement by Charlie Calero. guided by.

Then there's the avalanche of "Blue Moon Of Kentucky," a country-rockabilly version of Bill Monroe's standard recorded in Nashville and arranged by Charlie McCoy, followed by "Toe Hold," a Johnny Taylor cover song recorded in Nashville, acoustic. ・“Right Now For You” is a rock-solid song with a contrast between the ephemeral tone of the guitar and the synthesizer.
The moment I finished listening to "Hey, Western Union Man," a refreshing cover of Jerry Butler's masterpiece, which has the most straightforward soul sound on the album.
At the same time, the heavy orchestra appears again and the ending is ``Song And Dance For The Unborn, Frightened Child'', leaving the listener with an overwhelming sense of totality.
It can be said to be an epoch-making work that was the culmination of his career up to that point and the beginning of the singer-songwriter style that followed.

The bonus track includes Al's solo single "New Yorks My Home (Razz-A-Ma-Tazz)" released in 1965.
